## About

NewDoc is an Australian telehealth service offering bulk billed GP consultations via video or phone call. All doctors are AHPRA-registered General Practitioners with a FRACGP or FACRRM fellowship (the two equivalent specialist GP fellowships). The service covers the full range of GP services available via telehealth including prescriptions, medical certificates, specialist referrals, pathology referrals, imaging referrals, mental health support, and sexual health consultations. It does not prepare Mental Health Care Plans or chronic condition care plans. NewDoc is online only, with no clinics, and isn't available in every area. ABN 95 686 031 318.

## Key Facts

- Cost: NewDoc isn't available in every area. We check your postcode when you sign up. Where we are available, your consult is $0 if you're eligible for Medicare bulk billing, otherwise a flat private fee of $69.95. Whether your visit is bulk billed depends on your Medicare card and where you are, and is confirmed when you book.
- Availability: Most people see a GP the same day they book. Appointments run 7 days a week, including public holidays.
- Hours: generally 8 am to midnight Sydney time, 7 days a week, including public holidays. NewDoc is not a 24/7 service.
- Access: From 1 July to 29 September 2026, 78% of completed NewDoc consults happened on the day they were booked and 95% within 24 hours (median 4.7 hours from booking to consult; 41,790 consults).
- Care plans: NewDoc does not prepare Mental Health Care Plans (Mental Health Treatment Plans) or GP chronic condition management plans. Medicare requires these plans to come from the patient's MyMedicare practice or usual GP, so patients should book them with the practice they normally attend.
- Doctors: AHPRA-registered, fellowship-qualified General Practitioners only (FRACGP or FACRRM; no nurse practitioners).
- Prescriptions: if your GP prescribes, the eScript is sent to your phone by SMS after your consult.
- Certificates and referrals: Emailed directly to you after consultation.
- Coverage: NewDoc is online only, with no clinics. It isn't available in every area: we check your postcode when you sign up.
